Schools that accept the Ohio Autism Scholarship
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Scholarship Provider Directory for 2026-27, in the copy of October 6, 2026, names 125 schools for the Ohio Autism Scholarship. 86 of them also take EdChoice or the Cleveland Scholarship; the 85 of those we could match to a school and an address are here, by town. 39 more take only this scholarship and are not listed here yet, so check the official list too. It also names 292 therapy and service providers that are not schools; the businesses among them are on our approved providers page, not here.
Before you pick a school
- The award: Up to $34,000 for 2026-27, toward a special education program other than the one the school district runs, for the services in the child’s IEP or autism education plan. Parents pay costs above the maximum and services the plan does not name.
- Who qualifies: A child the school district has identified as a child with autism and given an IEP the parent agrees with, or a child with a private diagnosis of autism that the district reflects in an IEP or autism education plan (AEP). A child may apply from age 3.
- When to apply: Parents first enroll with a participating Autism Scholarship provider, chosen in the state’s Scholarship Provider Directory. A family that enrolls with a business provider rather than a school is responsible for home educating the child.
- Being on the list is not a seat. Ask each school whether it has room in your child's grade and what you would still owe after the award.
