Corrections

Families plan real money around these pages. When a school fact, a badge or a program rule here is wrong, we fix it and date the fix below.

How to report an error

Email editor@choicefunded.com with the page address and what is wrong. Schools can also use the update form linked from their own page; it is free and a person reads it. You do not need to be a customer, and a business never has to pay or advertise to get its page corrected.

How fast we fix it

When we confirm an error, the fix is live on the site within one business day and is added to the log below with its date. If we cannot confirm it, we tell you what we checked.

What we can change, and what we cannot

We fix:

  • A school's address, phone, website, grades or tuition, once the school or an official source confirms it.
  • A program badge that does not match the program's official school list, and a program amount, income limit or deadline that differs from the official page we cite.
  • Links that no longer work.

We cannot change:

  • Who is on a program's school list. The state or the program's administrator keeps it; we follow its newest edition, and a school asks them to be added.
  • Figures in the federal private school survey (2023-24). We can fix how we matched or showed them, not the survey itself.

Log of corrections and updates

A correction means we had something wrong. An update means the source changed or moved. Design and speed changes are not listed.

  • October 20, 2026 Correction /programs/deadlines/
The application alert on program, state, city, county and school pages asked for an email address and promised one email the day the next window opens, but no alert email was being sent. It is now a calendar box: it shows the program's next dated application window from the official source, with an Add to Google Calendar link and a calendar file made in your browser, and links to subscribe to our calendar of every program's dates, which updates when we confirm new dates. It asks for no email. The privacy page now says so, including what happens to the few addresses given before the change.
  • October 20, 2026 Update /programs/federal-tax-credit/
New York: Gov. Hochul announced on October 9, 2026 that New York will take part in the federal scholarship tax credit. We had still described her May statement that she intended to opt in. The federal credit page and the New York program page now cite the governor's October 9 statement. New York was not yet on the IRS list, last dated September 14, 2026.
  • October 11, 2026 Correction /programs/iowa/
Iowa's half-year education savings account corrected from the law (HF 2754): the award is $4,074, applications run October 15 to November 15, 2026, and the spring deadline is January 14, not February 1 as we had shown.
  • October 11, 2026 Correction /programs/south-dakota/
The answer on reapplying was corrected: a family stays income eligible for 3 years if funding allows, and an award is not guaranteed.
  • October 11, 2026 Update /programs/alabama/
Removed the line that 2027-28 applications open in January 2027. The state's page no longer says so.
  • October 11, 2026 Update
79 links fixed after agencies and schools moved pages, with every quote on the new pages checked again (151 quotes). 28 tuition figures now cite the school's new page, each figure re-read there; 23 dead tuition-page links were removed; 1 tuition figure is held until it can be re-read. Maine replaced its town tuition files: 21 secondary rates now cite the October 7 file, and 10 elementary rates are withdrawn until the state's elementary table is back.
  • October 8, 2026 Correction /programs/florida/
Florida's PEP dates clarified: new applications ran February 1 to April 30, 2026. April 15, 2027 applies only to the exception groups (such as active duty military and foster care), and funding for them is not guaranteed.
  • October 2, 2026 Correction
11 program badges were removed from schools that had been matched to another school's entry on the official list. Those schools are not on the list.
  • October 2, 2026 Correction /programs/
39 program facts corrected after every program page was checked against its official source. Examples: Ohio's full award runs through October 14; Oklahoma's tax credit can be less than $5,000; Louisiana's amounts are for 2025-26.
