Washington is not on the IRS list of states taking part in the new federal scholarship tax credit that starts in 2027 (list dated September 14, 2026). In September 2026 Gov. Ferguson said he was hesitant to opt in until the rules were final; Treasury proposed them on October 1, 2026.
